Place des Arts - Jean-Duceppe & Maisonneuve Theatres
The Jean-Duceppe theatre has 747 seats and more than 200 performances are presented each year.
The Maisonneuve theatre has 1,453 seats and is used for a variety of shows. Regularly, the theatre presents the Grands Ballets Canadiens, the Metropolitain Orchestra, I Musici de Montréal and the Pro Musica Society.
In 2017, our mandate was:
- For Jean-Duceppe theatre
- Design, manufacture and install 41 double battens for counterweight sets
- Design, manufacture and install 41 sets of pulleys including head blocks
- Replace the locking rail and ropes
- Design, manufacture and install 2 double battens for motorized sets
- Supply and install 2 motorized "0 fleet" hoists
- Design, manufacture and install 2 sets of pulleys for motorized sets
- Design, supply and install a new control system
- Supply and install a new lighting system for loading catwalks
- For Maisonneuve theatre
- Design, manufacture and install 71 double battens for counterweight sets
- Design, manufacture and install 71 sets of pulleys including head blocks
- Replace ropes
- Design, manufacture and install 15 double battens for motorized sets
- Supply and install 15 motorized "0 fleet" hoists
- Design, manufacture and install 15 sets of pulleys for motorized sets
- Design, supply and install a new control system
- Supply and install a new lighting system for loading catwalks
- Reinforce loading catwalks
- Moreover, to accomplish the task we used:
- Close to 1,000 pulleys
- 145,000 feet of cable
- Over 8,500 feet of pipe batten
